Chelsea injury news: Update provided on key midfielder ahead of Friday’s game

Football London have provided an update on the fitness of Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante as he continues his recovery from a muscle injury he sustained at the tail end of last season.

Kante limped off during our Premier League win over Watford, but was included in the starting eleven of the Europa League final against Arsenal, during which he played the entire 90 minutes.

The Frenchman put in a superb performance in Baku, but as time has passed it has become more and more evident just how unfit he was for the game. It’s July 18th, and he’s still not in perfect shape.

Football London report that Kante was out on the training pitch with his teammates in Japan, but was unable to be a part of the full session, with his injury still prohibiting him,

He should play at least some part in Friday’s fixture, with Frank Lampard not handing more than 45 minutes to any of his players anyway at this stage of pre-season.

It’ll be great to see N’Golo back in action.
