Goal have reaffirmed the idea that Michy Batshuayi and Kurt Zouma will both be going nowhere in the current summer transfer window.
Batshuayi spent last season at both Valencia and Crystal Palace, while Kurt Zouma had a very successful loan stint at Premier League counterparts Everton.
Of course, with every returning loanee, there are questions to be asked. Will they be integrated into the squad, loaned back out or leave on a permanent basis?
It appears as though we have our answer, at least on these two. Goal believe that both Michy and Zouma will be sticking around as part of Frank Lampard’s squad.
Essentially we have gained a prolific striker and an imperious centre-back without paying a penny, which is exactly what we needed with the transfer ban in force.
We get the feeling that both players will have considerable roles to play for the Blues in the season ahead. This really could be the making of them at Stamford Bridge.
