Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard is hoping to sign Ben Chilwell from Leicester City when the club are no longer banned from making transfers, according to The Sun.
Chilwell has established himself as one of the best left-backs in the Premier League in recent times, as well as now being a fully fledged England international under Gareth Southgate.
His good performances at Leicester appear to have captured the attention of Chelsea boss Lampard, with The Sun reporting that our manager is looking to recruit Chilwell.
The potential stumbling block in this deal is that The Sun report that the 22-year-old is valued in the region of £70M by Leicester, which is hefty for a full-back.
Whether Marina Granovskaia will be successful in haggling that fee down remains to be seen, but Leicester stood firm over Harry Maguire ahead of his move to Manchester United.
Chilwell would be a brilliant addition though, no doubt. If we were able to get this one over the line, we’d have promising players for every position across our back five.
