The figures behind Tiemoue Bakayoko’s loan move return to AS Monaco have been revealed by Goal journalist Nizaar Kinsella.
It has been clear for some time that Bakayoko’s transfer to Chelsea was not going to work out, so parting ways with the Frenchman at the earliest possible opportunity would have been high on Marina Granovskaia’s to-do list for the summer transfer window.
It’s taken her up until now to get him out the door, but she has done a brilliant job with the option to buy she has successfully negotiated into the loan deal which takes him to Monaco. Nizaar Kinsella believes that the figure stands as high as €42.5M, which is certainly pricey.

Whether Monaco will actually end up paying that full amount, or anything at all, is something that we will have to wait to find out, but if he does end up having another successful season in Ligue 1, we ought to cite that figure and see just how close to it we can get.
