Thomas Tuchel had been pretty neutral on the Covid situation in the Premier League until today, accepting that it was not really his place to be deciding whether games took place or not.
But today, after a game which saw his squad missing some of their most important named, he couldn’t resist criticising the fact that the game is played.
He said he was “not so sure” that the league had prioritised protecting the players, as they so often claim is their aim. It’s hard to argue against that, after four consecutive days of positive tests in the Chelsea camp this week.
