N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic formed an excellent partnership in midfield against Liverpool today, and both had some great statistics to back it up.
Kante in particular racked up some amazing numbers. He completed all 3 of his attempts to beat Liverpool player, assisted Christian Pulisic’s goal with a great run forward and a neat flick, and won the ball back for his team 14 times – more than anyone else in the game.
It reminded us all once again, what we miss when he’s not playing.

It’s the kind of performance we’re used to seeing from the midfielder, but we shouldn’t get ourselves get tired of his brilliance.
The partnership with Kovacic offers a lot, and if we can keep them both fit we can see this team’s future looking a lot more stable. That is a huge ask however, given the intense run of fixtures we have coming up.
