The race to buy Chelsea is hotting up, and because of the very limited group of potential buyers, we’re already getting quite familiar with a few names.
One that has been mentioned many times over the years is Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the British billionaire chemical engineer.
To the disappointment of many fans who preferred the sound of someone who is at least from the UK and knows its sports culture as opposed to some of the American options, Ratcliffe has been ruled out from a potential bid by a spokesman, who said there is “no substance” to the reports.
Spokesman for Jim Ratcliffe tells Reuters there is "no substance" to reports that he is considering buying Chelsea from Roman Abramovich.

Usually we might be cautious and say this was a tactic, but given this sale is likely to happen quickly, there isn’t much reason to play dumb here. Other buyers are moving quickly to secure a deal, and if Ratcliffe says he’s out, he probably is.
The question is – who else is in?
