This summer looks set to be one with a lot of defenders moving clubs, and the first dominoes are already falling.
Niklas Sule has agreed a free transfer from Bayern Munich to Borussia Dortmund, leaving the Bavarians one short at the back, and Andreas Christensen has agreed a move from Chelsea to Barcelona, meaning the Blues are now in the market too.
They could have the opportunity to get Barca right back – Ronald Araujo has impressed for the Catalan club this season and has just over a year left on his contract.
Chelsea have been linked with him before, but today Spanish paper Sport leads with the news that PSG are now also interested.
Now that Christensen is secured, Barca will likely be much more open to offers on Araujo, if they can’t persuade him to stay. The question is whether PSG, Bayern or another team in need will offer a more tempting arrangement.
Jules Kounde still seems like our top target, but if Sevilla price us out once again, Araujo could be our guy.
