Thomas Tuchel to have “direct discussion” with midfielder about his Chelsea future

As always when it comes to Chelsea and the summer window, there’s more than just transfers to worry about.

There are a host of great players out on loan, and not all of them can be in the squad next season.

Of all those out on loan this season, Conor Gallagher perhaps shone the brightest, and it seems certain that Thomas Tuchel will want him in his squad next season.

Fabrizio Romano has just reported something very similar, saying that Tuchel wants “direct discussions” with the midfielder about his future.

Everyone is taking a well earned break now, but given we’re far behind our rivals in terms of transfers, there will clearly be decisions being made now about the future of a lot of the squad.

We would be very surprised if those discussions don’t result in Gallagher playing an important role in the first team next season – but we may have to wait some weeks to find out.
