Chelsea consider ultimate move to help Romelu Lukaku

We’ve written here several times that fans who are expecting to see Romelu Lukaku sold this summer are living in dreamland.

Unless something comes totally out of the Blue, there’s no way we see the striker leave this summer  – nobody is going to be willing to pay us what it takes.

In that case, the best thing we can do is make moves to help him out, and according to The Athletic suggest we’re thinking of the ultimate version of that.

We’re apparently nosing around Lautaro Martinez, Lukaku’s strike partner at Inter before he came to Chelsea. The pair formed a deadly partnership, and it’s easy to see why senior figures at Chelsea might think that buying him would unlock Lukaku’s best form.

Would this be a brilliant way to get the best out of our investment, or would this just be a classic example of the “sunk cost fallacy”?

  1. Buying Martinez will be great for the club as he it will unlock the best of Lukaku. We paid a lot of money for him to be sitting on the bench. This false nine is not giving us enough goals. It is so easy to loose 2 point by drawing and even three for loosing.
