We’ve been very sceptical about the realities of Chelsea pulling off the sale of Romelu Lukaku to Inter.
It sounds like wishful thinking on both parts. The Blues are fantasising about shifting the flop and having the chance to sign another superstar, while Inter are dreaming of having their star of the 2020/2021 season back.
But the more we hear, the more we start to believe it might just be possible.
A few things will certainly have to happen if Inter want to offer anything like what Chelsea will want.
As SempreInter point out, it’s likely they will have to shift Edin Dzeko or Lautaro Martinez, their two current first team strikers, to free up the budget to sign Lukaku.
That sounds tricky, but that same publication also contains a glimmer of hope – apparently the Italian side won’t be haggling over €5-10m if a deal can be done.
That’s promising – how about €110m though?
