Chelsea midfielder ends up as the lowest rated player of the season

Drumroll please… it’s time for Chelsea’s lowest rated WhoScored player of the year award.

It’s… Saul Niguez. You probably could have guessed that.

He’s ended the season with a pretty dire 6.49 rating after 5 starts and 5 substitute appearances.

To be fair to the midfielder, after some of the worst performances by a Chelsea player we’ve seen in a while at the start of the season, he got better and better, and his ability to play left wing back actually came in pretty useful.

But in the end he finished bottom of the pile overall.

You won’t be surprised to hear that the Blues are not going to be making his loan deal a permanent move after all. We wish him all the best back in Madrid – that’s where he’s more suited to the game, and we’re sure he wouldn’t end up as their worst player over the course of a season.
