Emerson Palmieri is one of the Chelsea players with the most uncertain futures this summer.
We wouldn’t be surprised to see him stay at Chelsea as Ben Chilwell’s backup, we wouldn’t be surprised to see him sold after a good season, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see him loaned out again.
The defender has finally had some say on his future, but unfortunately for us, he wasn’t revealing much, as he himself doesn’t know much about what might happen next:
“For me personally it’s been a good season, I played a lot of games. Let’s see what happens in the future. I have a contract with Chelsea,” the left back said in quotes picked up by the Daily Mail.
“I’ve played there for three years and won some things. If I need to go back there I’m happy. It’s a good place for me, a good club. But I don’t know. Let’s see the next moves what can happen. I’ve not spoken to the coach.”
Thomas Tuchel does seem to prefer Emerson to Marcos Alonso, which is slightly counterintuitive given he loaned out the Italo-Brazilian and kept the Spaniard around last season.
If he had known that Chilwell was going to be injured for most of the year, it seems certain he would have made that decision the other way around.

Am Chelsea fans up Chelsea, Blue for life
Tuchel should retain him at https://chelsealens.com/ Chelsea, especially with Marcos Alonso set to join Barcelona… He’d be a proper backup for Ben Chilwell next season
