As the transfer window fast approaches, football clubs will be starting their plans to improve their squads and move for targets.
Chelsea are probably a little bit more behind than most clubs right now and have some real catching up to do, due to the sanctions and the ownership takeover situation of the last few months.
Chelsea are interested in a Leeds United midfielder this summer.
But now that saga is over and Todd Boehly and co are now in the door, things are expected to start developing over the next couple of weeks and Chelsea should start actioning a lot of the interest they have in players.
There is a new name on the block and one to keep an eye on, and that is PSV’s Cody Gakpo, who according to Caught Offside, has been offered to both Chelsea and Arsenal this summer.
They claim that despite Gakpo predominantly being a left-winger, both clubs have discussed the possibility to use him as a left wing-back.

I don’t see any need for a mediocre player at this time for the Blues if we must try to close the gap between us and the top two teams.
