Chelsea are going into a summer window after a few months of turmoil and uncertainty at the club with the ownership situation.
Roman Abramovich was sanctioned by the UK Government and the club was put up for sale. This sparked months of madness at the club and finally, just last week, the Todd Boehly/Clearlake consortium were confirmed officially as the new owners of Chelsea FC.
They’ve come in at a time where Chelsea are needing a bit of a squad rebuild, and the hard work will commence right away. It will be a summer of changes, but it looks like Thomas Tuchel will 100% be backed by the new owners.
As reported and discussed on The Si & Dan Talk Chelsea Podcast this week, Chelsea are working off the plan in place before the new owners came in. This means that previous transfer targets will be the ones they pursue this summer, and it will be players that Tuchel wants.
Their main aim is to engage with players quickly who they want to keep/offer improved terms to. Everything else, including any major incomings, will still being determined based on the plan of old regime.
