‘More next week’ – Chelsea are ‘confident’ in securing one of their first summer signings

Chelsea will soon be announcing one or two summer signings, it’s just a matter of time.

There are no doubts that Thomas Tuchel WILL be having his squad improved by the new owners at the club this summer, with some big names expected to arrive.

These things take time, and none of us are expecting anything to have been done just yet. That is the case for the Ousmane Dembele links, it is yet to be a ‘done deal’ according to the very reliable Ben Jacobs.

However, he goes on to explain that Chelsea are ‘confident’ in securing a deal to sign the Barcelona winger as a free agent at the end of this month, with us expected to hear more on it next week, which is now this week as he posted his update on Sunday.

Not really. There is a difference between playing it safe and being accurate. It’s not a done deal yet so to jump to that conclusion is wrong and clickbaity. But Chelsea are confident, especially with PSG interest cooling. That’s the state of play. More next week. 👀

So hopefully it won’t be long now before Chelsea are confirming their first summer signing, if they can get this over the line.
