Reece James slams the people offering criticism who ‘don’t really know the game’

Shots fired from Chelsea and England right back Reece James this weekend, and he’s aimed them at people who try and offer criticism to players and on this occasion, his England team mate.

Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has come under some criticism recently, and even though James is a direct rival for his position as a regular for England, the pair are team mates first and foremost, and James has stuck up for his England pal this weekend.

Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta set to join Barcelona?

“I make mistakes as well. I gave away a penalty against Hungary so we are both still learning our trade,” said James as reported by The Daily Mail.

Players are used to getting tirades of abuse and criticism online in this day and age, and James has taken exception to some of those offering criticism who ‘don’t really know the game’.

“Liverpool have 95 per cent of the ball and he defends less than I have to,” James continued. “People have a lot of stuff to say and don’t really know the game. Trent is a great player.”

Unfortunately criticism from fans and pundits has been, and always will be, just a major part of this sport. It’s good to see players sticking together though in response to it, and I’m sure it’s water off a ducks back for them most of the time.

  1. I know it’s been a long season and players are tired and need to rest. But I have to say this England team aren’t going to win the world Cup I’d put a bet on that right now also if they Don’t start playing the way we know they can then we may Aswell pack up now and go home. If we don’t pull our fingers out then we will be in trouble .I just think the lifestyle of these millionaire players is making the game look ordinary because they get so much money and think ok I won’t try and play well because whatever happens I’ve still got money in the bank wheres the pride and passion gone years ago we had great players now they’re average,We can look back and say he was a great player now im not so sure.
