Chelsea are still the team most strongly linked to Ousmane Dembele, the Barcelona winger who becomes a free agent in a couple of weeks, at the end of this month.
That should make things easy to organise – assuming Dembele’s wage demands are reasonable.
Chelsea don’t have to go through the whole process of agreeing a transfer fee with Barcelona, they can skip straight to personal terms, allowing for an unusually quick move in modern football terms.
