Bakayoko’s old boss is back in for midfielder

Tiemoue Bakayoko has struggled hugely since moving to Chelsea, both in his time at the club and on his various loans.

One successful spell he had was at AC Milan – the first time around – where he played under Gennaro Gattuso.

He went back there this season, but it didn’t work out – perhaps because there was a different manager in place.

He still has a second year of that loan to run, but it sounds like Milan are going to send him home early, leaving him in need of a new destination for the season.

Gattuso is now in charge at Valencia, where he’s been linked with a return for Bakayoko.

On the one hand it sounds like someone drawing the dots to just make up a rumour – on the other hand, it does make some sense.

It’s not clear whether it’s a loan or a transfer on the cards, but Chelsea would probably be happy with either.
