Chelsea are looking at some big purchases this summer, but they are in need of some bargain buys too after losing two players on free transfers.
One of their cheap options to come in and provide wing back cover appears to be Jonathan Clauss, a late bloomer who recently made his France debut and also recently turned 30.

It’s not the most exciting transfer story of the window, that’s for sure. But solid transfers are just as important as exciting ones, and this season was a stark reminder of how quickly injuries and suspensions can tear apart a squad.
Let’s not forget how recently it was that we were playing Saul and Ruben Loftus-Cheek at wing back. Depth matters if you want to win trophies, and if Clauss is indeed available at around €10m from Lens as is rumoured, that would be a bargain worth picking up, even at 30 years old.
