Matt Law is one of the top, perhaps the top, Chelsea insider, and he has a lot of really good sources at the club.
Today his Tweet is not about sources though, just opinions on his end.
The recent links to Nathan Ake have led to a lot of discussion among Chelsea fans about how much the Man City defender is worth. Many have baulked at the £40m+ asking price.
But as Law points out, Newcastle have just spent £35m on a player who has never played in the Premier League before, and has no Holland caps.
I'd like to know why if Chelsea spent £50m on Ben Chilwell they shouldn't spend similar on Nathan Ake? Would arrive with more pedigree. Newcastle paid 35 for Botman who has never played in PL and has never played a senior game for Holland. 40-50 seems the going rate for Ake to me

Ake has bundles of top flight experience, and plenty of Dutch caps.
By Law’s logic, he should be worth significantly more than Botman therefore, and the Telegraph writer puts his value in the £40-50m range.
His logic makes sense, but it’s an odd thing to drop in the middle of the day. Maybe he knows something we don’t about the potential deal?
