Jacob Steinberg is today reporting that Chelsea academy player George Nunn has “heavy interest” from Derby and Southampton over a move this summer.
It’s a sign of just how good the academy is that Nunn barely gets a mention on these pages, yet has immediate interest from a Premier League team now he’s reached the end of the youth conveyor belt.
The left sided attacker joined the academy from Creve and has played regularly through various youth sides in various positions, including up front.

Nunn’s decision will be choosing between guaranteed game time at Derby County, who have just been relegated to League One, or a move to a Premier League team where he won’t be anywhere near the first team to start with.
One would imagine a move to Southampton would be followed by an immediate loan out to a lower division team so he finally get some first team experience.
Chelsea should not sell him. Let him go on loan before he returns to the senior side
