Chelsea squad “excited” by new arrival despite fans uncertainty

The signing of Raheem Sterling has split Chelsea fans, but it seems to have had a good reaction from the players.

Nick Purewal had some interesting updates on the move this afternoon, and he claimed that senior players are “excited” by his signing, which has “boosted the squad”. They will be hoping it’s the first of many additions to help them towards their goals next season, having seen how far off the pace we were by the end of the season.

After a summer where there have been a lot of outgoings and nothing incoming, it’s easy to see why a new arrival would create excitement in the squad, especially as the first new arrival of the new ownership.

As for the fans – we wouldn’t worry too much about them. Who knows more, a random teenager on the internet, or one of Sterling’s new teammates? We know who we would rather trust.
