Chelsea have just announced their squad for the US tour, and as we noted here, there are some interesting omissions, transfer-wise, and some head scratching inclusions too.
On a separate issue, the club revealed that neither N’Golo Kante nor Ruben Loftus-Cheek would be on the tour due to their Covid non-vaccinated status.
Clearly the whole world has given up on the idea that they need to protect players’ vaccination status from public scrutiny. Not long ago this information would have been kept totally anonymous – no matter how easy it was to work out with simple logic.
It all seems quite silly now that the world has largely moved on, but there you go. Kante’s status in the squad is secure, but RLC wants to show his worth to Tuchel once again and this will be a real hindrance to his chances of doing just that.
What a shame for all involved.
