SportWitness have some interesting reports from Italy about the Romelu Lukaku’s loan to Inter.
We know that the loan deal has no compulsory or even voluntary purchase option – but according to these sources there’s a handshake agreement between the two sides over making a permanent deal happen next summer. That gives us real hope that this isn’t going to be a problem which simply returns next summer one this year’s deal has come to an end.
As we all know though, in football a gentleman’s agreement is pretty meaningless – just ask Harry Kane.
If it was a binding legal deal, it would be a binding legal deal. As it is, it’s just a handshake.
So all Chelsea fans can do is hope that Lukaku absolutely bangs in the goals this season, inspired Inter to a league title, and leaves the Italians no choice but to make the signing permanent next summer.
Or Tuchel leave Chelsea. He has failed with all the strikers with so much talent Werner, Lukaluka, Odoi etc… He couldn’t even give the senior defensive players that he has some ideas. He is a pathetic coach. The worst that Chelsea has ever had.
