Two more European attacking stars linked with Todd Boehly’s Chelsea revolution

The Guardian have tonight named Chelsea in connection with two wingers plying their trade for top teams in Europe.

Jacob Steinberg writes that the Blues are considering both Rafael Leao and Serge Gnabry and considering them as options to add to their team’s disappointing attack.

Raphinha of Leeds is clearly going to Barcelona now, meaning Todd Boehly will have to look further down the list. Both Leao and Gnabry are talented, but they’re not on the top tier.

Steinberg is a well respected and seasoned journalist with years of experience covering Chelsea. It’s perfectly plausible that he has some connections who have passed on the news of the club’s interest.

He doesn’t have an exceptional record of breaking transfer news – but the ownership may have lead to new sources.

Both these signings are plausible – but neither feels likely anytime soon, especially given the holes left in the rest of the team by major departures this summer.
