Chelsea’s summer going from 1-100 with 3 transfers potentially concluded within 7 days

Today, it feels like Chelsea turned the corner on their summer’s activity.

They were always going to be delayed going into the season, with the takeover of the club by Todd Boehly not completed until the 30th of May.

Progress was then seemingly set back even further by the removal of so many powerful figures from the previous regime, with 12 months of work on deals like the Jules Kounde transfer suddenly chucked in the bin as Todd Boehly rolled his sleeves up and got his hands dirty himself.

Both of those have hurt our hopes of a decisive and speedy summer, but now everything is in place, things could happen extremely quickly.

The Raheem Sterling deal is done and will be announced imminently. Nathan Ake looks set to follow soon after, and Kalidou Koulibaly has come from nowhere to look like a move that could happen within days rather than weeks.

We’re not going from 0-60, we’re going from 0-100.
