BBC Sport are among the sources reporting that Chelsea have agreed a deal for Kalidou Koulibaly of Napoli.
According to them, the defender will travel to Los Angeles this week to join the squad for their preseason training. Raheem Sterling, his new teammate, arrived today and was announced by the club.
It will be a four year deal for the 31 year old, reported by other sources as being worth €10m a season. That would be a huge deal for a player of that age, but perhaps the success of Thiago Silva has convinced the club that defenders can go on succeeding well into their 30s.
Koulibaly would be 35 when this deal ends.
After a long period of inactivity, it looks like Todd Boehly and his team are finally getting into gear and making decisive moves for their targets. In a week or two, we might have a really impressive squad coming together.
