Chelsea have today agreed a deal to sign Kalidou Koulibaly – but they’re not finishing there it seems.
No sooner had we reported that a £30m deal had been agreed for the centre back than we heard from top insider David Ornstein that the Blues are “in talks” with PSG to sign Presnel Kimpembe.
The France international plays at left centre back and knows Thomas Tuchel well from their shared time in Paris together. It’s pretty clear which direction this is coming from.
🚨 Chelsea in talks with Paris Saint-Germain to sign Presnel Kimpembe. #PSG open to 26yo’s exit if valuation met – not happened yet but conversations ongoing. France int’l a key #CFC target at left centre-back. Juventus also in contact @TheAthleticUK #Juve https://t.co/5sf488Awxm

Julien Laurens – who is well connected at PSG both with the players and the hierarchy – says that he can’t see why a deal wouldn’t happen. PSG are happy to sell, Chelsea are keen to buy, and the defender wants a new challenge.
Now let’s see for Presnel Kimpembe. Chelsea and PSG talking. PSG are happy to let him go, Chelsea want him and he wants a new challenge. So I can’t see why this deal would not happen.

That will mean at least two top class defenders joining the club this summer – possibly three. Where does that leave Levi Colwill? That’s what we’re wondering now.

Don’t rule out Presnel instead of Ake – they’re both left sided Centre Halves
