Crystal Palace are leading the charge to sign Chelsea defender Levi Colwill, according to a Nizaar Kinsella report in the Evening Standard today.
The defender looks increasingly likely to not get regular playing time at Chelsea this season after the signing of Kalidou Koulibaly and the strong rumours about interest in Presnel Kimpembe, Nathan Ake and other defensive options.
Palace want him, as do several other teams. Earlier articles had linked Arsenal and others to the talented 19 year old. Leicester, Brighton and Southampton are mentioned here.
That would be a devastating blow to Chelsea fans, who also saw Marc Guehi go to Palace just a year ago. What we would do to have him back now – are we really going to make the same mistake again? It’s hard to believe, but all sources are now increasingly pointing in that direction.
How painful would a Guehi-Colwill partnership be to watch for Blues fans?

Last season we had six Centre Halves:
Azpi, Rudiger, Christensen, Thiago, Saar and Chalobah
This season we will probably have:
Thiago, Chalobah, Koulibaly, Kimpempe and Ake. – Colwill makes six.
My guess is that he will go out on loan again, this time to a Premiership club – in 2023 of course Thiago will surely be gone, and Colwill will return as a crucial member of a line up of five
