West Ham’s move for Armando Broja is gathering pace.
We heard just a few days ago from Guardian journalist (and West Ham fan) Jacob Steinberg that they had bid £25m for the Chelsea striker, with another £5m available in add ons.
Now he’s saying the Hammers have improved their offer to £30m plus add ons. It feels like we could squeeze yet more money of them – although selling off talented young players only to force yourself to spend more money to replace them isn’t a particularly wise move.
Ben Jacobs, on the other hand, says that our London rivals may have to “settle” for a loan move instead of the permanent transfer they desire. That would certainly keep Chelsea fans a little happier, but many of them just don’t want to see Broja go at all.

Either way, with the Albania international now having left our US training camp, it looks very unlikely we see him in Blue this season at any rate.
