Well connected Barcelona insiders Gerard Romero has updated the world on Cesar Azpilicueta’s move from Chelsea to Catalonia.
He said that the Basque will be allowed to make the move – but only once Jules Kounde has successfully signed for the Blues.
Romero said that Azpi will “immediately join”, indicating that personal terms are agreed and even potentially the agreement between clubs, and all parties are just waiting to see what happens with Kounde before they click the button to make it happen.

What this does likely tell us is that part of the plan of signing Kounde is to use him at right back too. Azpilicueta is our only cover for Reece James at wing back down that side as it stands, and if Azpi goes that would mean buying a backup is totally necessary – unless we’re happy with Kounde filling in there or playing right back in a back 4.
