In a contender for “worst PR move of the summer,” the police in Milan decided to accost Tiemeoue Bakayoko at gunpoint while he was going about his business in the Italian city.
It was all caught on camera of course, and while the Polizia quickly released a statement explaining and defending their actions by saying that they were looking for a suspect of the highest priority, and being armed was totally necessary in the circumstances. Bakayoko waited until today to say how he had felt.
Bakayoko has now spoken:

In quotes picked up by Tancredi Palmeri he gave the police an understanding take:
“Authorities stated it was a mistake and they realized only in real time. Being wrong is human, no problem with that, but the way they used those have been a problem for me. I believe they went too far.”
We can’t help but feel like there’s a word missing here – is “those” meant to be “those powers” or even “those guns”? We will have to wait for Tancredi’s next update, we suppose.
