Matt Law is The Daily Telegraph‘s Chelsea correspondent and he is today writing about the issues that the club are having moving on some of their many excess first team squad members.
Young talents have been sent home from this US tour because of the presence of older players – including Michy Batshuayi, Malang Sarr and Ross Barkley.
But none of those guys have a future in the Chelsea first team, so keeping them is coming at a cost to the youngsters trying to break through.
The club would love to sell them, or failing that find them a good loan. But in all cases they’ve been farmed out before, with little success.
To be honest, you wouldn’t even need an insider to be able to conclude this for yourself. The fact that none of them have moved yet, and there’s actually been very little interest even rumoured, tells you pretty clearly that these guys are going to be very difficult to shift on any kind of deal that favours Chelsea.
