We never take too many positives from a good preseason, and we’re trying to be just as level headed about this preseason, which is pretty difficult when our manager is saying things like this.

After Chelsea’s hammering by Arsenal last night, the coach questioned several aspects of his team, from their fitness to their mentality. It was a pretty astonishingly frank take on the status of his team.

We all know that’s true – because of the total mismanagement of the squad over the last few years we’ve had a slew of players leave, and we have a host more who are keen to follow them.

That’s creating serious mental difficulties in the squad, and the only real solution is to shift these guys and bring in new players who really want to be here. Until we’ve done that, this problem is only going to get worse.

With just a couple of weeks left until the season starts, we’re a little worried now.
