Barcelona “toying” with amateurish Chelsea in summer of pain

Chelsea are being “toyed” with by Barcelona in this window, according to the Daily Mail’s chief football correspondent Rob Draper.

The journalist Tweeted that new owner Todd Boehly is having rings run around him by the Catalan club this afternoon in the wake of news that Jules Kounde is set to join them instead of Chelsea – despite the Blues having agreed personal terms and a transfer fee with Sevilla.

Not only are Chelsea going to miss out on a player they’ve tracked and been close to signing for over a year, they have also wasted another precious week of the summer, with our opening game of the Premier League season now less than two weeks away.

This was supposed to be a crucial summer of rebuilding – instead we’re lurching into next campaign with a squad that has all of the same flaws as the one we finished last season with.

  1. I sincerely think Todd should have let Marina do the negotiations before letting her go. She’s done really good in previous negotiations. We are bungling this one and in truth Barce are just toying with CFC.
