Barcelona are a mysterious club right now, and there are many weird situations going on there based around the club’s finances, or lack of them.
They seem to keep on being able to sign players whilst still being in lots of debt, using these ‘financial levers’ that they keep pulling out. Also known as ‘magic money’ or ‘money trees’. The whole situation just doesn’t seem right.
Sources: Updates on SIX attackers Thomas Tuchel is looking to sign this window.
Midfielder Frenkie De Jong is caught up right in the middle of it, and rumours suggest the club want him to take a pay cut to stay. Madness when they continue to sign big money players whilst being in millions of debt.
However, Chelsea could benefit here, because according to Sport, as cited by Sport Witness today, De Jong would only leave Barcelona to join Chelsea rather than Manchester United.
They claim that everything is in Chelsea’s hands for De Jong’s future right now.
