Catalan paper Sport are claiming that Chelsea are trying to block a Barcelona move for Marcos Alonso because they’re frustrated about the way that the Spanish club have intercepted a Chelsea move for Jules Kounde of Sevilla.
Now there are many reasons this is stupid even as a concept, but we will only bother outlining two of them.
Firstly, selling Alonso is something Chelsea want to do because it benefits them, not because it benefits Barcelona. If nobody else wants to buy him – and it doesn’t seem like there’s a whole lot of interest in him at that price – then denying him to Barcelona is just hurting ourselves out of spite.
Secondly, it’s questionable whether Barcelona have even done anything to make us angry in our pursuit of Kounde. As far as we can see, they’ve been pretty above board all round, and all they’ve done is offer the players we want a more tempting move than us.
That’s not their fault – it’s our fault.
Basically so far we have done absolutely nothing and the players we got nobody else wants
If kounde wanted to go to Barca then what can a club like Chelsea or any other for that matter stop that from happening.
By not selling a player to Barca its the club Loss not Barca’s.
La no venta de Alonzo sería más bien por no tener o conseguir un relevo de garantías, en éste caso el reemplazo era Kounde por lo que si no se puede fichar una alternativa lo mejor sería retener a Alonzo. No es capricho, es algo lógico.
Actually Barcelona haven’t offered a better deal. They have been telling Kounde to hold off signing for us so they can get money together to match our offer in fee. But they can’t match our offer to Kounde. All this talk from Kounde for well over a year that he wants his dream move to Chelsea and we have terms agreed with him and Sevilla. Now Barcelona come calling all of a sudden he’s changed his mind. If Kounde wants to go and mess around with Barcelona and risk not getting paid that’s his business. We only want players that aren’t scared to play in the best league in the world. Instead of taking it easy in the Spanish league.
