Chelsea’s two summer signings so far both joined the club while Thomas Tuchel’s group were in American on the preseason tour.
That means that today was the first time that either Raheem Sterling or Kalidou Koulibaly had trained at our exceptional Cobham training base, as the squad had their first session on home turf after the end of the tour.
It may not seem like much, but it’s an important part of their integration into the club.

Cobham is our home, and a place where the players spend a lot more time than anywhere – including Stamford Bridge. This will be the site of most of their Chelsea careers, and their integration to the group will happen on site in Surrey much more than it did in Las Vegas or Orlando.
Let’s hope that this new stage in preseason will immediately lead to more impressive results than those we saw in the States. They can’t get much worse, let’s be honest.

It is the best place for them to closer In shape as a team. During matches, the players need to be closer to themselves in all aspects of the pitch. So I wish they will be well equipped in doing just that through training in chobham.
