Thomas Tuchel names two Chelsea players who won’t be in squad for Spurs game

The season has begun, and we’re back to Thomas Tuchel’s regular weekly press conference – and as always he led off today with an injury update.

There will be two players missing from Sunday’s game, for very different reasons, according to the Chelsea boss.

Marcos Alonso was left out of the squad for last week’s game against Everton because he was in the middle of organising a transfer to Barcelona, and Tuchel confirmed that that will be the case again this week.

It must be very frustrating for all parties that another week has passed without that getting done.

The other notable selection feature last week was Mateo Kovacic sitting on the bench. Today Tuchel confirmed that Kova has “issues with his knee,” and won’t play on Sunday.

We’re not sure if that explains his benching last week, or is a new problem, but it’s not great news and it’s certainly something to watch.

  1. Excelente momento para darle oportunidad a Gallaguer junto a Kante jugando como 5, espero use a Broja de 9 con Sterling de extremo izquierdo
