Two key contributors to our recent success are academy graduates on very low wages compared to their important – Reece James and Mason Mount.
According to Law, this is going to be rectified by the new ownership, who will offer them remarkable SIX year contracts, with an option included to extend those deals by another year.
One would imagine the wages on offer would have to be monstrous too, just to get get the players to agree to such an unusual setup.
It would be nice to be able to breathe easy over their futures for the best part of a decade of course, and we wonder if this is a natural reaction to the trend of top players at Chelsea and beyond running down their deals and moving on free transfers.
