After a 3-0 thrashing by Leeds United at the weekend, everyone has their opinions and reactions of where things have gone wrong.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel refused to throw his players under the bus after the game, and he refused to blame weak mentalities. But unfortunately, after terrible performances like this, there has to be a blame. And I’m not buying the whole ‘we were the better’ team rubbish, because we were not, not even for the first 20 minutes. It’s delusion if you think that.
The Athletic have it spot on in their post-match analysis, especially in the one line that I have used for the title of this article – Chelsea’s current problems cannot be solved by a chequebook alone.
As they say, the biggest benefit of Wesley Fofana potentially arriving would be that Thomas Tuchel stops playing Reece James as a right centre back, completely limiting what he brings. They also point out the fact that Conor Gallagher and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are both 8s being asked to play as 6’s, which is also clearly a problem. And this final question that’s asked in the article, is completely valid also:
Is the solution a 33-year-old who was virtually driven to the nearest airport by Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta in February, or are there broader, systemic reasons for the struggles of all of Chelsea’s forwards?
It’s not the attackers it’s the system they are playing That’s why nothing happens and most of the goals we score are from defenders Tuchel is very stubborn and he is not going to change it He is going to drive Chelsea to the bottom and then he is going to get sacked and then everything will begin all over again The search for the MAN continues Unfortunately Tuchel is not the ONE

Yes, you’re right. Most of the players are not purchased by T T, that’s why they are not fitted for the system. In fairness to him though. Chelsea has not perform better when we play four at the back and he won all the trophy he had won with three at the back. I believe with right player for each position will change the narrative
It’s not true. The structure and system is not the problem because this same structure won us the champions league. What happened at Ellan Road was just a one-off and is the product of poor selection, individual errors and mentality. I personally don’t have a problem with the 3-4-2-1 formation that Tuchel is playing, what I have an issue with is how he selects the playing personnel to execute that formation. For instance, Loftus Cheek has no business at RWB and Reece James was not supposed to be at Centre Back in that game against Leeds. As a matter of fact I believe that the 3-4-2-1 system is a very difficult system to break down if you have the right player selection to interpret it
