Raheem Sterling’s time at Manchester City all seemed to line up pretty nicely.
After breaking through at Liverpool he got to move to the dominant team in the country, win many league titles and cups, and score lots of goals. Liverpool got a good fee in return.
Now Sterling has left City, and that seemed pretty amicable from the outside too. He stopped playing as much, Chelsea wanted him, and City got a good fee in retrn.
All good right? Maybe not. The more we hear about the winger’s departure, the messier it sounds.
He admitted before Chelsea’s game this weekend that he was “raging” about what had happened at City, and when those quotes were put to Pep Guardiola he responded somewhat cryptically.
“If you force one person to stay when he doesn’t want to stay how can you get the best from him? It’s impossible,” the City manager said in quotes picked up by the Manchester Evening News.
It sounds like there are more secrets to uncover in this saga.
RS is clearly a dummy spitter, if he doesn’t get his own way!….and to try and challenge a manager like PG….was his biggest mistake….he wasn’t happy at Liverpool and he’s not been happy at City….and I can pretty much guarantee he won’t be happy at Chelsea either….well rid!.
