Tottenham are interested in signing Anthony Gordon from Everton, and their interest in the winger predates Chelsea’s.
That’s according to Ben Jacobs, who has come from nowhere to become one of the more well connected Chelsea writers when it comes to this new ownership.
His Tweet on the subject had a few interesting snippets, not least the info about the long standing Spurs interest.
Spurs interest in Anthony Gordon is real and pre-dates Chelsea’s. But Tottenham valued Gordon at £35m (all in) earlier in window. Chelsea are prepared to pay £60m. Everton still maintain he’s not for sale and have already rejected two #CFC bids. Newcastle have not come back in.

We’ve already reported that Chelsea are willing to pay £60m in total – 50 up front and 10 in add ons.
But it seems like Everton will turn that down – perhaps unsurprisingly given their perilous relegation situation.
That surely means the end of Chelsea’s interest too – there’s no way we should be going above £60m for a player who barely has the body of work to justify a fee half that big.
Spurs apparently considered Gordon worth closer to £35m, and even that feels a little generous to us.

For £60 m !!!! Sell him ASP !!And buy a striker !!
He might be a local boy but he wants to leave so get rid !!! With that money they could buy players who actually score goals !!! The club has had three weeks of a new season and they STILL haven,t replaced Richardson and his goals !!! With DCL out injured AGAIN the need for a striker or strikers is clearly evident!!
Against Forest ,19 shots on goal….ONE goal!!!
Enough said. !
not surprising Everton bottom reaches again this deal for Gordon should have been completed by now and 2 strikers bough same old crap another season with nothing to look forward to Rondon only striker is a joke.
NO AMBITION SO WHY SHOULD I CARE ANYMORE
Should take the money and re-invest in team. We have 9 days left to get loanee’s and freebies. Otherwise we will be struggling again!!!
Chelsea paying £60m is absurd for 2 reasons. He is not what they need and it is far too expensive. The new owner seems to be ‘showing off’ and trying to demonstrate how much money he has to blow. City wanted to pay £35m for Cucurella; Tottenham £35m for Gordon. Chelsea, as under Abramovich, are prepared to pay virtually double for both. Chelsea need a number 9 – everybody can see that. Gordon has promise but he plays in a position that Chelsea have embarrassing riches. Not sure what’s going on unless one or two big players are going to leave. Everton should bite their hand off
“Perilous relegation situation “? You are obviously having a laugh. We are 3 games into the season. Are West Ham and Liverpool in a perilous relegation situation? Ridiculous comment.
Sell him to Chelsea he wants to go, and with dcl out we need a striker maybe 2 strikers, I mean cant on rondon is a joke as it is, wtf is everton doing, CMON Lampard use your head
