Remember the ball boy who Eden Hazard kicked in 2013?
Well, we saw boy, the kid was 17 at the time. If you remember, in the middle of a League Cup semi final, with Chelsea losing 2-0, the teenager lay on the ball and stopped Hazard getting it back into play.
A frustrated Hazard tried to boot the ball out from under him, and the ballboy – Charlie Morgan – reacted in true football style, by pretending he was seriously hurt.
It was just another little incident in the rich and ridiculous tapestry of being a football fan. But ten years on, there’s a twist in the tale.
TalkSport have revealed that Morgan, who is the son of a director at Swansea, has set up a vodka brand which apparently has made him worth £40m, with fans including icons Wayne Lineker and Ronaldinho.
It’s just another reminder that good things sometimes happen to bad people…
