RB Leipzig join chase for Chelsea defender

RB Leipzig have joined the race for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chlaobah, according to the Evening Standard.

They reported that the 23 year old is a major target for the Bundesliga team, which is always brimming with the top young talents – but also said that Chelsea won’t sell until they have a replacement lined up.

The German side join a host of Serie A teams – including Roma and Inter – who have been linked with Chalobah in recent days.

Leipzig are the perfect target because they’re in the middle of an injury crisis at the back, with Lukas Klostermann recently ruling himself out for some time.

They have also already successfully conducted business with us this summer when they bought Timo Werner, meaning that there are established lines of communication.

The question now really is – do we want to sell Trevoh? We’ve got a feeling we’re going to be playing plenty of him this season, and selling him now would be seriously premature.
