Chelsea aiming to sign top Russian talent as part of youth revolution

Chelsea have made an offer for Dinamo Moscow midfielder Arsen Zacharjan, according to a late night report from Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Russian attacking midfielder picked up 7 goals and 8 assists in 29 league appearances last season. He’s followed that up with an impressive start to this campaign too.

It’s a move that would continue Chelsea’s summer of signing young starlets from across Europe. They’ve signed Carney Chukwuemeka and Cesare Casadei for above €15m each already, and Zacharjan would join that club of top teenage talent ready to be integrated.

Like Chukwuemeka, he’s got plenty of first team experience under his belt already, and we would expect him to be loaned to (probably) an English team to him settle while continuing to pick up minutes.

That is, assuming Thomas Tuchel doesn’t have first team plans for him. If he can play out wide, there’s certainly room for a dice roll with departures expected.
