Chelsea scored twice in today’s game against Leicester, but with both goals coming with the Blues already down to ten men, it was always going to be a defensive performance in the main.
That’s precisely what it proved to be. Thiago Silva will feel he might have done a touch better on the Leicester goal, but apart from that was at his supreme best at the back for the Blues, steering them to a huge three points with a colossal performance.
His stats show just how good he was. He made 4 tackles – more than any other player, and won 10 of his 11 duels.

It was just what the doctor ordered at the back for the Blues, after some total capitulations in recent weeks. The addition of Cesar Azpilicueta in the second half helped create a lot more stability within the team, and Silva was dominant in the middle.
