Wesley Fofana completes second part of Chelsea medical

Wesley Fofana has completed his medical and will be announced as a new Chelsea player once he’s returned to England.

The second part of Leicester defender’s medical tests were conducted in New York – apparently because of the wishes of Todd Boehly and the other owners – but all was well and he will now come back to Cobham to complete his transfer.

Fabrizio Romano has announced that the tests – likely done with extra scrutiny because of the broken leg that Fofana had a year ago – have been passed without problem and he will now be able to join Chelsea in time for this weekend’s action, all being well.

This move has really taken its time, but at last we have our Premier League experienced defender ready to step in and start playing right away as a key piece of Thomas Tuchel’s new look Blues.

We expect to see him holding the shirt by tomorrow night.
