Loan army solider returns to place he’s found success

Baba Rahman has bounced around Europe on loan from Chelsea, with injuries preventing him from really settling anywhere.

But a full campaign at Reading in the Championship last year was a success, with the Ghanaian staying injury free and making appearances.

So perhaps it’s no surprise that he will return for a second consecutive season there, with the announcement just made on the Chelsea FC website that another player has left as we gradually thin our ranks ahead of the transfer deadline.

Rahman’s chances of becoming a first team player – if indeed that was ever the plan – have long since dwindled to zero, and for Chelsea it’s all about sending him somewhere where he can play regularly and raise his value for a sale in the future.

We’re not going to get any real money for him, but at least this way we will likely get some money for him down the line.
